NotesDu May's 'Prudent voyageur' gives a detailed description of political life in Africa, Asia, America, and Europe as well as a genealogy of the royal families of France and the German States. He states that his account is more 'political' than 'geographical'.

The preface illustrates the utility of travels. However, the entire work is to serve as a guide for a useful travel experience. The Preface occurs at pp. [25-30], following the dedication and epistle to the reader.
