| Biographical Notes | English aristocrat. Son of son of Sir Francis Russell, Lord Russell and his wife, Eleanor Forster. Suceeded to the earldom of Bedford, as the third earl, in 1585. Married Lucy Harington, daughter of John Harington, 1st Baron Harington of Exton, in 1594. Participated in the insurecction of Robert Devereux, the earl of Essex (described elsewhere in this database) in 1601, and was subsequently fined £10, 000. Not in ODNB. |
