Béat Louis de Muralt

Date 1665 - 1749
Biographical NotesSwiss travel writer. Muralt is mainly known for his 'Lettres sur les Anglais et les Français' (1725), written after traveling to England, and a previous sojourn in France where he had served as an army officer.

Later in his life, Muralt seems to have fallen into a sort of visionary mysticism, as shown by his 'Lettres fanatiques' (1739).
